Good morning, everyone. We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and many blessings for you all in the new year. God bless!

Season’s greetings, everyone. This morning, the Brownsville Firefighters, along with help from our friends at H-E-B, provided holiday meals for 200 local families. 2020 has been incredibly hard on everyone and our members are no different. Throughout the year, we have had a remarkable showing of love and support from our community and we felt that we needed to pay that kindness and generosity forward to families in need.

We have to thank our Treasurer, Jaime Ibarra, and his family for putting this event together. Thank you also to our volunteers including the Brownsville FIRE Explorers who are always ready to lend a hand. I think Jaime has given us a wonderful event that we can continue next year.

Thank you all for allowing us to continue to serve this community and we wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas.

Serving Our Community Proudly

The Brownsville Fire Fighters Association Local 970 was established on March 1, 1948. With over 70 years of continuous affiliation to the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF), we are one of the oldest labor unions in South Texas. We are also a proud affiliate of the Texas State Association of Fire Firefighters (TSAFF). Our membership is comprised of approximately 165 men and women who proudly serve the Brownsville community as firefighters, paramedics, and rescue personnel. We work closely with the Brownsville Fire Department and the City of Brownsville to not only provide EMS and rescue services but community awareness as well. We are constantly looking for ways to expand our presence in the community. We always love an opportunity to give back to the amazing citizens that have given us so much. While the mission of the fire service is to “protect lives and property,” the BFFA proudly supports our brothers and sisters as they fulfill those duties. Though the challenges we face are ever changing, the Brownsville Firefighters will always be there to answer the call with courage and professionalism.

Good evening, everyone. We hope that all of you are doing well. Christmas is right around the corner and so too is the department’s annual toy drive. You can help too and all you have to do is make a purchase at the Alton Gloor El Pollo Loco on 12/9 from 5pm-8pm. A portion of your purchase will be donated to the toy drive. Thank you so much and we hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.

Good night.
Happy Halloween, everyone!! Though the rules for Halloween fun are a little different this year, we still hope you all have fun with your families today. Be safe out there and thanks to all the frontline workers for serving our community and keeping us safe.

Have a great day!
Good evening, everyone. As some of you may have heard already, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2035 are in danger of losing their hall. Covid-19 mandates forced them to close down for many months but they have finally reopened at half capacity. The Brownsville Firefighters paid them a visit today to make a donation and see how else we could help. We have a long history with our VFW brothers and sisters. Our monthly meetings have been held in their hall for quite some time and many of our own firefighters are veterans themselves. Their sports bar serves as their base of operations for their many civic contributions including honor guard and flag detail services. We proudly support our veterans as well as local businesses and we ask that you do the same in their time of need.

They will gladly accept your donations but would love for you to come by and see them at 1801 Veterans Drive in Brownsville. They will have live music this Saturday with $15 beer buckets. You could also stop by and watch the Cowboy’s game for even better beer specials.

Best of luck to you VFW #2035 Brownsville. God bless you all for your service to this country and to this community.
Good evening, everyone. Don’t forget that we’re still taking orders for our Breast Cancer Awareness shirts until the end of the month. All proceeds are going to Imelda Santillana, wife of Firefighter Ramon and mother of Firefighter Misael. Imelda is currently receiving treatment for breast cancer and she needs our help. Any orders placed today at the link below will be ready for pickup on 10/26. Get them in soon!

Have a great night!

Good morning, everyone. I just got word from our partners at Team Graphix in Los Fresnos that they will begin processing orders later today. We started this drive a little late because we’re utilizing online ordering for the first time but we both wanted to make sure you guys have your orders as soon as possible. All the orders taken in by today should be ready for distribution by early next week. They advised me that there are many open carts so be sure to finalize those orders as soon as possible so you can be part of the first group to get your shirts. We’re doing great so far and we appreciate all of your support.

Thank you and have a great day.
Hello, everyone. Below is the design and the website where you can order your 2020 Breast Cancer Awareness shirts. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Imelda Santillana and her family as they continue their fight against this terrible disease. Our friends at Team Graphix in Los Fresnos are still working on the site so the colors on the graphics may be a bit off but the logos and colors that will be on the shirts you receive are the ones pictured below. This is all new for us but we’re learning as we go to improve our customer service.

We have our classic navy tshirt as well as a dri fit option available. And back by popular demand is the 3/4 sleeve baseball shirt. We’ve added more colors this year as well as youth sizes. Your orders can be shipped or picked up at Team Graphics in Los Fresnos. We’ll take orders throughout the month🎀

Thank you.
